Kristen worked at the Nevada Humane Society, and she recently came across a dog with unique features. The dog, named Peanut, had a big squishy face and floppy ears on a tiny Chihuahua body. When Kristen saw Peanut for the first time, he had a look in his eye that seemed to ask her whether she could help him.

Peanut's previous owner loved him a lot. However, due to limited finances to care for his dental needs, the poor animal was surrendered. Peanut's teeth were removed, and when she was asked, Kristen immediately decided to foster him. She had lost her previous rescue dog a couple days before.
According to Kristen, Peanut looked like baby Yoda from Star Wars, a bunny, or a gerbil. Peanut was a quiet dog and loved to be wherever Kristen was. The two shared an unreal bond. All of his facial wrinkles would get visible when Kristen massaged his face.

Peanut trusted Kristen a lot, and if she could hold him in her hand, he would love to stay with her all day long. Soon she did a DNA test on Peanut, which left more questions than answers. Peanut was 13 breeds in total. The top five breeds in his DNA were Chihuahua, short-haired miniature dog, Shih Tzu, Samoyed, and Nordic Spitz. There were no beagle, pug, or Shar-Pei signs in his DNA.
Kristen used to call him a super mutt extraordinaire because he was the most unique-looking dog ever. Some people always thought that Peanut was a bunny and not a dog. Kristen had three other senior rescue dogs at home, and Peanut always used to play with them. Oliver with one eye, Daisy the Chihuahua with no teeth, and Rudy were the other senior dogs.

Three rescue cats at Kristen's home were also Peanut's playmates. Kristen's first rescue dog was Petey. He was the one who turned her on to volunteering to foster rescue animals.
According to Kristen, rescue animals are the most unique, genuine animals. All the rescue animals deserve a chance to get a loving forever home. Peanut was also a certified therapy dog as he brought joy, peace, and comfort to people.
