Woman Decides Her Special-Needs Bunny Is Not 'Worthless'

A person in a blue shirt holds a large rabbit, with a window and a cage in the background.

Robin always wanted to adopt a pet bunny. Her husband did not favor the idea initially but later gave in. She searched for months and never felt a connection with any of them she was introduced to.

However, it was very different with Orlagh, a special needs bunny. She found the little animal at the Bunny Buddies rescue center in Houston, Texas. The poor animal had something with her right leg. It was really bent peculiarly.

The poor rabbit was dumped in a box. She was found by a passer-by who had brought her to the rescue. When Robin saw the bunny, she knew she wanted to adopt the little one. Orlagh had tremendous energy, and Robin could not wait to meet her.

Robin's husband was nervous at first, but he instantly bonded with her. The animal had splayed legs which everyone thought was probably because of bad breeding. However, the bunny never behaved as a special needs bunny. Instead, she was swift and energetic.

The clever bunny got a litter box trained in two days, and Robin believed that Orlagh was worth saving. She loved kids and was fond of Robin's other pets. She was very gentle and never had a bad day.

Since she couldn't lift off her bottom, the owners gave her a tush bath at least two to three times a week and then dried the hair with a hairdryer because it couldn't stay wet. After that, Orlagh got her sanitary trimmed every month to be nice and clean.

During her yearly checkup, Orlagh's vet was quite impressed with her progress. The bunny even went out in a stroller and enjoyed spending time with her kind owner. Orlagh and Robin shared a great bond and were inseparable.
