There are several reality shows on television, including American Idol, The Voice, and X-Factor. Every other day a reality show catches the public eye due to its contestant’s extraordinary performance. The X Factor’s Season 8 is an excellent example.
A barmaid named Samantha Brookes from North Wales proved her singing talent on stage in the X-Factor. Before her performance, she introduced herself and her profession backstage to the viewers.
Brookes decided to work as a barmaid because of the cheerful atmosphere and the generous tips - but one of her biggest dreams is to become a singer. So then, she went on stage, quickly introduced herself to the judges, and impressed them with her bubbly personality.
However, things went a bit crazy on the X-Factor platform when she went on a talking spree without even sharing her name! Once she did, she was asked what she wanted from the show - fame, fortune, or men. When she answered men or, more specifically, one of the judges, everyone got into a fit of laughter.
After all the craziness, Brooke went on with her actual audition. She started singing “One Moment in Time” by Whitney Houston, an extremely tricky song. Yet, despite her nervousness, she left the audience speechless with her confident and steady voice.
Although the song only got tougher to sing with higher notes, she pulled it off perfectly. Towards the song’s end, the audience gave her a well-deserved standing ovation.
The judges were surprised by her outstanding performance and gave her four yeses immediately. They couldn’t believe that she kept her talent away from the spotlight for so long. But, Brooke shared that she wanted to but couldn’t due to her body-related insecurities. However, Judge Kelly Rowland made her feel positive with her uplifting comments!
