Wonder Woman' Lynda Carter Sings 'Could This Be Magic

Lynda Carter is forever America’s ‘Wonder Woman.’ She captured our hearts on tv as one of the first superstar comic book heroes in the 70s. According to Lynda, her first love is singing, and she performs beautifully.

Lynda stands behind a white baby grand piano and tells a story about Mozart. She introduces child prodigy Donald Yung, who has only been playing for two and a half years.

Donald plays a wonderful introduction to Lynda’s singing of ‘Could This Be Magic.’ Once Lynda begins singing, a circle of orchestra instrumentalists plays around her. They all appear to be young prodigies as well.

Lynda is dressed in a stunning black evening gown with her hair back instead of her usual ‘Wonder Woman’ look. Her voice resonates with a beautiful tone and vibrato, and she is obviously a trained singer.

She moves around the piano as Donald continues to play, and the orchestra builds the song’s intensity. Lynda delivers the emotional lyrics with passion and drama.

The performance occurred during Lynda’s second tv special from 1980 titled, ‘Encore.’ The majestic set design features a circular stage and a huge chandelier. The young musicians surrounding her are dressed in all-white suits and dresses.

For those who only know Lynda for her role as ‘Wonder Woman,’ this performance will be pretty shocking. Lynda can really belt it out, and she is comfortable as a lead singer. Her excellent delivery and fantastic voice prove why she was invited back to do more variety shows!
