Renovation or remodeling is the process of improving a broken, damaged, or outdated structure. Renovations are typically either commercial or residential. Additionally, renovation can refer to making something new, or bringing something back to life.
Many people renovate to create a new appearance for their home, or so another person can live in the residence. Builders often renovate homes because it is a stable source of income.
In the process of remodeling older houses, individuals may come across some interesting building materials as well as treasure.
One woman was lucky enough to discover some interesting treasure underneath the floorboards of her house during a remodeling project. One of those treasures is unexpected and extremely interesting.
Youtube user Ang Gru was recently remodeling her house, which is nearly 100 years old. While tearing up the old floor inside one of the closets, she found something interesting. Beneath the old floor in the closet, Ang found a 14K diamond ring.
Upon further inspection, she noticed something else peeping out from underneath the flooring, so she decided to investigate; that’s when she found old newspapers that date back to 1932!
Lining your floors with newspaper was a common practice in the past, as it was cheap, efficient insulation and helped to prevent the floor from creaking.
