Kenny Rogers just keeps getting better with time and this video is going to have you tapping your feet. This is classic Kenny Rogers in the era of YouTube!
There’s absolutely no sign of that bumbling side of Rogers, who turned 80 in 2018, in this video where he joins the a capella group Home Free to sing the tune “Children, Go Where I Send Thee.” The song, driven by a relentless beat, grooves right from the beginning and The Gambler sounds as confident as ever as he belts out the lyrics.
This song is one of 11 on the album, which has gotten quite favorable reviews since its release in September of 2015. Though many people think of Rogers just for his country work, he’s shown his spiritual side by releasing six Christmas albums total. That’s pretty impressive for a man whose career has spanned decades.
Time doesn’t stop for anyone and while Rogers may have seen his image change in some areas, there’s no denying the man is still gifted musically. LISTEN TO THAT VOICE and all those memories will come flooding back.
He smartly surrounded himself with talented people like the Home Free singers. If he makes decisions like this, there’s no reason to think he can’t keep going for as long as he wants.
Watch this video then pass it along to a friend who could use some Kenny Rogers. Leave your review below and tell us what you thought of Kenny’s video.
