Orcas, more commonly known as “killer whales” are one of the most stunning things I have laid my eyes on. They are highly social animals and they travel in groups which can consist of 5 to 30 whales. They are said to be very intelligent and playful. It would be a treat watching them in their natural habitat, that’s probably what Louis Jobidon thought when he went solo kayaking near Hornby Island in British Columbia, Canada.
But the poor kayaker probably got a lot more than he actually wished for. He noticed some orcas in the distance, but in an instant, one of them was breaching right next to him! That must have been terrifying to say the least! Orcas have never been known to attack people in the wild. Only when they are held captive, do they show signs of aggression towards humans. But it is still too close for comfort isn’t it?
