Robert Fuller has shown the world that apart from their inborn ability to hang suspended in the air while hunting, male kestrels can be very seductive and will never mind their partners’ age gap.
Filmed in mid-April, Robert Fuller’s video features a young male kestrel (Apollo) who is very eager to find a befitting mate, settle down and raise a family. However, fate matches Apollo with an older partner.
Like humans, Apollo has to ensure that he gathers all the necessities before starting the courtship process. So the young fella jumps from nest to nest in the Ashwood area to locate one that will comfortably accommodate him and the prospected 'wife.'
Apollo becomes very lucky to get a nest recently built by Robert. But, unfortunately, the hunt comes when there is fierce competition for nests among birds in the Ashwood area.

The young male has to convince his mate to enter inside the newfound home and assess its suitability. However, the female kestrel plays hard to get as she rejects Apollo's welcome note.
Apollo's hard work pays off after learning the game's rules- forming a nest grave to convince the female that her eggs will be safe. However, the female later gives in.
Being experienced, the female kestrel is keen to ensure that Apollo lives as a responsible ‘husband’ and keeps him on toes to bring the delicacies on her priority list. She later lays an egg and leaves it under Apollo’s care.
