You’re invited on a ‘field trip’ to a lavender farm

On holiday in early July, this filmmaker captures the stunning beauty of a lavender farm in the south of France.

Provence, France, is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Filmed in The Plateau de Valensole, this fascinating video takes us on a journey through lavender production in the region.

Interspersed with some great footage of tractors and industrial equipment, we are treated to a landscape of purple, as we see thousands of lavender bushes lined up in rows.

Filmed in July, when the lavender is in full bloom, the fields look unreal. The landscape is something truly spectacular, with blue skies and a sea of green and purple.

It’s incredible to see the farmers use such precision in their harvesting of the lavender. Their tractors perfectly trim the lavender stems from the bushes, funneling them into storage trailers.

Not only do we get to see the stunning French countryside, but the methods of oil extraction are also revealed. The method of steaming and distilling is really interesting.

With over 10 million views, I’m sure there are lots of people wishing they were walking through these fields right now. The best bit is where the bees start attacking the camera!
