Music videos are only as good as their editing. The Kempters show this in their ‘The Orange Blossom Special’ video. The video starts with 14-year-old Chris Kempter holding the fiddle below the stage. He looks around as if waiting for something or someone.

Then, out of nowhere, a boy who looks like Chris appears in the video’s foreground while two other lookalikes accompany the first one with their fiddles. A fifth and final lookalike also appears and curiously watches the others before getting his fiddle.

While the five boys look the same, they differ not only in clothing but also in playing style. As they perform, they all look at each other as if to say, “I’m the better Chris!”

However, as the song progresses, the difficulty increases, taking out a boy at a time. By the end, only one ‘quintuplet’ stands, the true fiddle ‘King’ and the winner of the spot in the Kempters band.

Now, I bet you’re thinking, “How do all these fiddlers look so much alike?” Well, they do, and they don’t. That is because it’s only one boy multiplied five times.

With a bit of movie magic, Chris Kempter made it possible to ‘compete’ against himself for a spot in his family’s Christian band. His effect made an exciting song more engaging and captivating.

Of the performance, fellow viewers have said that Chris Kempter’s skills are off the chart not only in his ability with a fiddle but with video editing. An excellent example of musical creativity.
