Ginny, a ginger cat, did not eat unless her owner, Krista, started petting her. So, the kind owner would often pet the senior cat during her lunch break. This routine of Krista petting Ginny continued whenever she ate, at least 10 times a day.
Ginny was 13-years-old and very particular. She wouldn’t start eating until Krista or her boyfriend touched her. When Ginny wanted Krista to pet her, she would redirect them to her bowl. When she got to her bowl, Ginny would stand and look at them. She never touched the food until the owners sat down on the ground with her.
The senior cat did not like the owners being distracted while she ate. She wanted their full attention. Ginny wanted to know they were there for her and watched her back. The picky feline was very particular about her food.
The food Krista gave the senior cat was untouched most of the time. The picky eater would just sniff and walk away. The poor owner had tried 10 different food items until they found a brand that the cat liked.
The previous owner had Ginny for 8 years and later had to go into an old age home. Krista believed that she was lucky to get to know about this cat. Either Ginny had to go to a shelter, or she came home with them, and they chose the second option.
Ginny mainly was alone when she was with her previous owner. But now, she was the queen of the roost. The senior cat was the most spoiled senior cat. So the owners shopped a whole bunch of toys for her. They knew she was deserving, and the owners felt good that she was happy.
Krista and her boyfriend were home a lot, so she would move back and forth with whoever gave her the most attention that day. However, Ginny was a mama’s girl through and through. She would sit at the bottom of the stairs and wait for her mama to come down. The senior cat did not want to be left alone. Krista believed that she had made their house a home.
