Janis Joplin was an incredible singer and she is often regarded as one of the greatest artists of all time. She left us too soon, but thankfully, she also left behind her incredible music for us all to enjoy, and many talented artists have done great covers of her songs. But the one featured in this video is by far one of the best covers ever, and I think you will agree once you see this cover version.
Nobody could ever replace the incredible Janis, but Pink does a pretty amazing job of it in this clip. Her brilliant rendition of “Me & Bobby McGee” is going to leave you speechless for sure. This was performed live at Sessions @ AOL in 2003. “Me & Bobby McGee” was written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster in 1968, but Joplin managed to top the US charts with her cover in 1971 after her death. She was not the original artist to sing this song, but Joplin’s version is probably still the most famous. This cover by Pink runs a close second in my book though, because her voice has a similar quality to Janis Joplin’s. This is an amazing rendition of “Me & Bobby McGee” by an amazingly talented artist.
