If you have a dog, you probably wish your four-legged friend could talk to you. After all, you talk to the dog all the time, don’t you? On one level, it would be of great practical value if dogs could talk. Your dog might inform you that one brand of dog food is superior to another or that a different kind of blanket would be nice. You might finally learn why Fido chews on a particular piece of furniture or chases the mailman. On another level, it would just be fascinating and funny: dogs would surely have things to say about the world around them and life in general, both profound insights and absurd notions.
But sadly, dogs can’t talk. The best they can do is use body language, facial expressions, and non-verbal vocalizations. We humans can pick up on a lot of this, but there are surely many times when a dog is frustrated by our inability to understand what they’re trying to tell us.
Of course, we can always pretend… What’s more, we can make a video and share it with the world! That’s what one doggy dad did, creating a hilarious and perfectly timed canine voice-over. He gave his dog a goofy voice — how could he not? This “talking” dog of his is an eccentric fellow: he wants a kitten to keep him company. “You wanted a girl?” “Yep.” “A tabby?” The dog jumps around excitedly. “Oh! I can’t believe you got me a cat! Where is she?” But first, Dad insists on finishing his story, telling the dog about how he looked at all sorts of other animals while he was at the pet store. The dog’s intensifying impatience is absolutely hilarious.
