It’s important to show your loved ones how much you care, while you still can. As sad as it is, it’s a truth that those we love most can be taken away from us at any time. Keith Urban recently went through the pain of losing his father.
Robert Urban, Keith’s dad, passed away in early December following a long battle with cancer. Just days before, Keith had released an announcement that his father entered hospice care.
The news of Robert’s illness was made public right before the opening of Keith’s Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit.
“I’ve just been dealing with that the last couple of days,” Urban said. “This has all come at a very strange time where it’s typical of a career that has extreme highs and extreme lows all often at the exact same time.”
After Robert passed, fans of Keith participated in an outpouring of love and support. The country star was touched by the sentiments from his fans, and said “My dad’s love of country music and America set me on my life’s journey, and shaped so much of who I am today. Thank you to everyone who has kept us all in your thoughts and prayers.”
