While the moment is still fresh in her mind, Nightbirde shares her experience about getting the Golden Buzzer on America’s Got Talent from the notoriously difficult to impress, Simon Cowell.
She talks about the song she chose to sing for the competition called, “It’s Okay.” She wrote it when she was going through a hard time in the past year of her life.
Since she has been battling cancer for many years she learned that you can still choose to be happy even when things are hard. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

Nightbirde recalls the moment her performance ended and Simon Cowell said that he wasn’t going to give her a yes. She simply thought to herself, that’s okay, she understood because she is not the most impressive singer in the whole world.
Then she could not believe it when he moved from his chair to reach out and press the Golden Buzzer. From her perspective that time felt like twenty minutes.
When meeting Simon Cowell she mentions how genuine and nice he was to her. He wasn’t doing it as a stunt or a tv performance. She could tell that he really cared, and she loved that.
Simon Cowell and Nightbirde also hugged as the Golden Confetti fell around them, apparently she whispered something to her. Though that is a secret that she won’t share because that is between the two of them.
