UPDATE – 5/7/2025, 1:42PM PST: Pinterest is now allegedly coordinating false reports against whistleblower accounts in an effort to silence external criticism and force deactivations. This marks a new phase of reputational triage, shifting from narrative control to open suppression.
PHOENIX, AZ – In a troubling twist, Madly Odd’s Pinterest account was hit with a Pinterest suspension as part of what appears to be a sweeping Pinterest ban wave affecting hundreds of thousands of creators while the scammers remain active.
And now Madly Odd is sounding the alarm after uncovering hundreds of thousands of dangerous “lookalike” pins on Pinterest, designed to mimic Madly Odd’s content while funneling unsuspecting seniors into identity theft traps, fraudulent medical offers, and virus installers. These pins look real, but they’re fake… and dangerous.
Pinterest Bans Madly Odd For Reporting Cybercrime Targeting Seniors
Madly Odd has been a beacon of positivity since 2011. But Pinterest’s apathy is now corrupting that trust, leaving fans exposed. While the fake pins spread, Pinterest suspended the real MadlyOdd.com Pinterest account, blocking the legitimate source and silencing the very team trying to warn and protect the public.
“Instead of delivering joy, Pinterest now delivers viruses,” says Christopher Parks, co-founder of Madly Odd. “We’ve submitted over 20,000 complaints with detailed forensic video evidence. Pinterest’s executive leadership has known since November of 2024. We’ve given Pinterest’s CEO Bill Ready everything he needed to act, but Pinterest’s lack of meaningful action is putting our fans in harm’s way.”
Despite overwhelming proof, Pinterest has allowed these malicious pins to thrive. Worse still, Pinterest’s own algorithm is boosting the scam links, flooding the feeds of seniors, families, and others drawn to uplifting content.

Your customers are being harmed, your brand is being exploited, and Pinterest is still cashing the checks. Contact us at pinterest-advertisers@madlyodd.com to review the evidence and take steps to protect your company before regulators—and your customers—do it for you.
This video was originally posted on Madly Odd’s Twitter account, which had been exposing Pinterest’s malware-laced ad placements directly to advertisers. The post was taken down shortly after going viral—full video/mirror appears below.
