Then, Bill smiles and introduces everyone. He leans over to Roy Clark and asks, “How many times have you heard that theme song?” Roy responds, “Not counting just now? I have not stopped to count, but it’s the second most important thing that’s ever happened in my life.”

Bill asks what the first important thing is. Roy responds, “I can’t remember,” and everyone laughs. Bill gets to the main question and asks if Roy Clark and Buck Trent could reprise their fantastic dueling banjos rendition from the show. Roy says, “We probably could, but I don’t know if I want to.” The cast laughs at the banter.

They hand them each a banjo, and Roy and Buck start to strum and laugh. Roy starts on the classic tune with the single banjo intro, and Buck follows him. Then, they are off to the races, playing the spirited melody.

Roy and Buck share a few friendly looks, but they keep the song’s soul by competing with one another for speed and accuracy. Everyone is clapping along and enjoying the moment as the two men entertain the audience.
