Mold is one of those things you never want to find inside your house. It’s bad enough that it looks disgusting but what’s far more serious is the fact that many types of mold can be very harmful to your health. It can also do severe damage to your house. Mold loves damp, moist environments. Cracks and crevices in the bathroom are one common mold zone. Even areas that appear mold-free might have a little bit growing, so it’s important to be vigilant.
Various and sundry anti-mold products are commercially available but these generally contain toxic chemicals that could end up being worse than the mold itself. Before going the harsh chemical route, you might want to try an all-natural mold removal method first. It turns out that tea tree oil does a great job killing numerous different types of mold, including the dreaded and potential lethal black mold. It’s non-toxic and presents no health hazards. In fact, it’s been used for thousands of years to treat skin problems.
To get started with eliminating mold the all-natural way, you’ll only need three things: 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil, 2 cups of water, and a spray bottle. Pour the water and tea tree oil into the spray bottle and mix them very thoroughly. Give the bottle a good shake just before you spray. Let the area you sprayed dry out before wiping it clean with a soft cloth or old towel. If the mold is in a hard-to-reach area or is really heavy, an old toothbrush is perfect for scraping it away. For good measure, spray a second coat to help ensure the mold won’t grow back.
