What can be more unusual than this! This couple was startled when their cat acted against her instincts and nurtured these baby ducks instead of eating them right away. I am still shocked! Aren’t cats and birds mortal enemies? Aren’t they supposed to hate each other? I guess not.
Ronan and Emma Lally couldn’t find their ducklings, and then they saw Della the cat in the barn with one of them in her mouth. At first they feared that the cat they thought they knew so well had eaten or killed the ducklings. You can imagine the fear they felt. But this was not the case, and they learned to have more faith in their cat.
The couple later realized that her cat was mothering them and had one in her mouth because she was moving them, just like a cat will pick up her kittens by the back of the neck and move them. What was more shocking is when these ducks start breastfeeding. They started sucking her milk. Both ducks and cats are acting as if they are unaware of their own nature.
I smiled during this whole video. My heart skipped a beat when she bites them on the tail to bring them back to the nest. When the ducks grew older they still couldn’t get enough of her and followed her everywhere.
