The classic TV sitcom ‘Bewitched’ featured an incredibly nosy neighbor, Mrs. Kravitz. Her funniest moments have been assembled for fans of the show. The character was played to perfection by Alice Pearce from 1964 to 1966 and Sanda Gould from 1966 to 1971.
The show starred Elizabeth Montgomery as ‘Samantha Stephens,’ who was a witch married to a mortal man. However, nosy neighbor Mrs. Kravitz was a fun character that added humor to the show while snooping on Samantha’s life.
While she could never prove her assumptions to her husband, Abner, that didn’t keep her from trying. In Season 4, Episode 30, ‘Samantha’s Secret Saucer,’ Mrs. Kravitz looks over the fence and sees a giant saucer and gasps. She exclaims, “I knew I was right!”
In Season 3, Episode 7, ‘Twitch or Treat: Part 2,’ Samantha looks out the door and says, “I wonder who that is,” in a stern voice. She looks out the window and sees Mrs. Kravitz, and she flails her arms in frustration.
Samantha asks her family member, “What am I going to do?” He says, “Allow me,” and snaps his fingers right when Mrs. Kravitz knocks on the door. It changes to Mrs. Kravitz’s front door, and her husband answers, leaving her very confused.
In Season 1, Episode 28, ‘Open the Door, Witchcraft,’ Samantha drives home, and as Mrs. Kravitz is walking inside, she looks over and sees Samantha wiggle her nose to open the garage door. Mrs. Kravitz asks Abner if he saw what Samantha did, and Samantha smiles and says, “Well, that’s what I call magic,” leaving behind a stunned Mrs. Kravitz.
In another clip from that episode, Samantha opens the ‘Out of order’ grocery door with magic, and Mrs. Kravitz spots her from the checkout line. Mrs. Kravitz attempts to go through the same door, but she smashes it and ends up wearing the out-of-order sign. Abner says, “You’re out of order!” All of these great clips feature nostalgic moments with Mrs. Kravitz, the ultimate nosy neighbor.
