If you like stories that bring tears to your eyes, this is the one for you. At Mockingbird Animal Sanctuary, horses Gidget and Peggy were best friends who could not stand to be apart. Gidget passed on, and it affected Peggy. She could barely walk, and she was extremely depressed and melancholy. The good people who worked on the farm wanted to find Peggy, a new best friend.
They got donkeys on the farm, but the donkeys were not allowing Peggy to be involved with them. Peggy would try to play with them, but they were uninterested, which was heartbreaking. The donkeys and Peggy never developed a bond.
A couple of years later, they got a miniature pony named Bourbon, and he was perfect for Peggy. Peggy and Bourbon did develop a bond, and Peggy started to come out of the darkness. Peggy now had someone else to love. Even though no one could ever replace Gidget, Bourbon helped Peggy see the light.
The two horses did everything together, making Peggy feel so good. After two long lonely years, Peggy was not alone anymore. She got to be her sassy self, and Bourbon taught her that even after a heartbreak, you can still find a way to be happy. The two horses share a stall and a run. To this day, Bourbon and Peggy are never alone anymore because they have each other.
