Typically, when you see a bird on the ground in a massive place, like New York City, you don’t think twice about it. Usually, you’ll just be looking at a pigeon or some other city-dwelling bird.
This young woman happened to have a different experience in New York City. While walking through Central Park, she had a unique visitor approach her—a parakeet.
This parakeet was unusual, as it was very comfortable and trusting of the woman, refusing to leave her side as she walked home. She realized she had no choice but to bring it inside.
As a woman who claims to typically be afraid of birds, she had an unusual bond with this parakeet. The bird trusted her to give it rubs and scratches while it slept on her shoulder.
Knowing that there was no way she could give the parakeet away, the young woman had to prepare her home to support a bird. Purchasing a cage, food, and toys for the bird to enjoy.
The unique bird seems to have walked into the young woman’s life right at the right time. After going through some struggles in her personal life, she required a companion.
The unique understanding that’s in between mankind and animals is truly remarkable. A certain amount of emotional support built up in these relationships can be very powerful.
