Cashier saves grandpa $2k from a well-thought-out scam

You might wonder why people often fall for scams when it is easy to spot them. But not all scams are the same, especially when they come from a con artist.

Senior people are susceptible to scams; Cecil Rogers, a loving grandfather, was in for a scheme. He received a phone call, and the voice behind it claimed to be his grandson. The man said he was involved in a terrible car crash.

Another person, who claimed to be an attorney, got on the phone to confirm the incident. Cecil panicked! He hurriedly went to the local Walmart to make deposits without any questions.

Cashier saves grandpa from scam

Grandpa Cecil planned on sending $2300 to the supposed attorney. But the whole scheme was about to be disrupted when Cecil met Audrella Taylor and asked her to process his payment.

Audrella got to know why Cecil wanted to send such a massive sum of money. She delayed the payment as her suspicion kicked in. She’s witnessed such events before and knew Cecil was about to get duped.

The cashier learnt that none of Cecil’s family members knew about the event. The attorney warned the grandpa against telling anyone, which was for his son’s safety. Audrella, by this time, was fully aware of the scam and explained everything clearly to the old man.

Cecil realized he almost got scammed and thanked Audrella. He would have lost the cash saved up for Christmas shopping, but Audrella saved him. Audrella’s manager appraised her for intelligently cutting the scheme short.
