When I was a kid, I thought that it would be very cool to have daughters. Why? The thing is, I never had any sisters. My mother always wanted to have a daughter, too. Instead, she had 3 boys, I was the youngest. Some of my friends had sisters, and I remember them getting jealous when someone mentioned that their sisters were cute. Growing up, I wanted to have that feeling of having a daughter and taking care of her. Hopefully, she would never be interested in having a boyfriend, and we would live happily ever after. When I got married, I had two daughters. All I can say is that I was ecstatic. I had no idea how to raise them, but I was having a lot of fun doing it.
Like many little girls, they loved everything about princesses. I would get them every conceivable toy of Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty or any other of them. I enjoyed watching them play with their dolls. My wife would say that I was always spoiling them, and I would say she was right. It was a very fun time for us all and I thought it would never end.
Unfortunately for me, puberty hit them like a hangover on a 60-year-old man. It was as if someone had turned a switch. Literally, I swear that from one day to the other, they stopped playing with their dolls. They used to spend whole days playing with their dolls, but now they wanted them as ‘collector pieces’. Soon after that, they started talking about… yes, you guessed it! Boys.
I remember it got so bad that it was even a little boring to be with them around the house. They had several crushes in school and of course, celebrities. And I was starting to realize that those happy days when they were my babies were already long gone. I thought to myself, “what did I do wrong? Was I missing something?” Well, no. It’s just life and I understand it, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
The father in the following video probably thought the same thing. He had a plan. He would talk to his daughter about boys as soon as he could. So, one day, while her daughter was still a baby, he decided to have that one important talk with his daughter. He is sure that he will seal the deal today and his daughter will only be his baby. Wait until you hear the surprise response his daughter has for him!
