The internet is full of heart-melting videos of unlikely animal pairings, but this will turn even the hardest heart into a puddle. Not only does this video have an adorable duckling. It also has a cuddly kitten.
In nature, cats hunt ducks, but these two could not be closer. We mean that statement quite literally. The two tiny babies squished themselves together in a small glass bowl.
Unlike some cats who spurn cuddles, this ginger kitten was overflowing with affection for his fluffy friend. The young feline gave the baby duck kisses and hugged the duck as tightly as he could.
At first, the yellow duckling seemed happy about her cuddle buddy, but even the most friendly kitten is still a kitten. When the kitten tried to coax the duckling into playing, the baby duck made her escape.
But the duckling proved she was not a fair-weather friend by rejoining the kitten in the bowl. This time the kitten seemed to understand that the duckling was not a sparring partner.
As the two friends nestled together in their glass bowl, the kitten and duckling started nodding off to sleep. The duckling did her best to stay awake, but she fell asleep in her feline companion’s paws.
