When you think of retiring, you might imagine years of relaxation in a beautiful, warm climate. Theresa Matthews decided to open a kangaroo sanctuary to fill her lazy days with the love of these fantastic critters.
Matthews and her husband moved house to start Our Haven Wildlife Shelter in Australia. They have rescued a plethora of needy kangaroos and given them a second chance at a life filled with happiness and love.
With so many kangaroos around, she quickly noticed how they interact with each other like toddler humans. One minute they’ll be embracing in a hug and the next they’ll be play fighting.
It’s adorable to see these creatures hang upside down in hammocks after an exhausting afternoon with their friends. It’s people like Theresa and her husband that make this world a better place.
