Barry suffered from a herniated disc, which meant there was a chance he would never walk again. With the help of his wife and kids, he was able to get better.
He was given the Golden Buzzer during his audition after he performed Elvis Presley’s ‘The Wonder of You.’ They were inspired by his emotion and the strength he presented.
For his semi-final performance, he sang Bette Midler’s ‘Wind Beneath My Wings,’ a song about giving thanks to those you love. His wife has been the wind beneath his wings.
He wore a well-tailored suit with a red necktie and pocket square. His voice captivated the judges and the audiences. Behind him was a handful of violinists and backup singers.
The performance was incredible, especially when you think about what he had to go through to be there. It was a great act of love for him to dedicate that song to his wife.
