Legendary ‘Police Academy’ star Michael Winslow performs on ‘America’s Got Talent’

‘America’s Got Talent’ is bursting at the seams with extraordinarily creative people. And when you thought it couldn’t get any better, here comes legendary Michael Winslow, auditioning for a spot on the show.

Michael Winslow became known to the world through his character Larvell Jones in the ‘Police Academy’ series of movies and TV shows. He also performed in Mel Brook’s ‘Spaceballs’, where he also did all the sound effects during his scene.

Regardless of all the success, Winslow had to break from his acting career and dedicate all his time to his three children after becoming a widower. Now that the children are all grown up, he decided to come back

“This is my time, and ‘America’s Got Talent’ is the place for me to show everyone I still have something to offer,” said Winslow, also known as ‘The Man of 10000 Sound Effects’.

In his act, Winslow shows off his skills as what he likes to call a voicestrumentalist. He starts to explain how already, as only a six-month-old baby growing up around airmen bases, he’d be making noises by adding an incredibly realistic sound effects of a jet plane.

While the story is there for comedy relief, his sound effects connecting it are astounding. Winslow even resorts to beatboxing the Queen tune ‘Another one bites the dust’ and reggaeton favorite ‘Despacito’.

Winslow put together an effortless and entertaining comedy act that thrilled the audience and the judges. But it is as Winslow himself said it: “There are still some sounds to make, and there is still room for a little bit more.”
