Mommy And Newborn Otter Rest At Aquarium. I Almost Melted From The Cuteness.

There’s nothing stronger on this planet than a mother’s love for her child. She will drop everything and lavish attention on him or her when they need it. This is most present in the animal world, where the bond seems to be the strongest. Take a look at this video and you’ll see what I mean. It might even make you want to go run hug your own child. I can’t guarantee it will, but I like the odds.

We see a sea otter and her newborn baby in the water. The mommy, as sea otters are wont to do, is lying on her back, bobbing up and down with the waves. Her precious baby lies on her stomach and she grooms and caresses him as the waves come though the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which seems to merge the sea and the exhibit. Both of them are quite content with each other.

One cool thing about sea otters is that they sleep on their backs in the water, holding paws so that they don’t float away from each other. I can’t imagine trying that with my wife. First of all, I don’t think we’d fall asleep in the ocean unless we had a boat accident like in “Titanic.” But these guys can do what they want – I’ll just stick to sleeping in my bed, thanks. No, it’s not a water bed either.

The best part of the video is at the end. The mother otter and her son are lying on their backs on some rocks. Both of them are looking up at the sky. I could just imagine the baby otter asking his mom: “Is this the best that our life offers us?” Her reply as they both look up at the crystal-clear blue sky: “Yes, son. It is. Isn’t it wonderful?” They would then drift off to sleep, making me very jealous.

I couldn’t take my eyes off these two. They were stunningly adorable. What did you think? How many times did you replay the video? Tell us all about it in the comments section!
