A dog is a beautiful creature, bringing joy into the life of humans. Herschel is one such animal. Although he was neglected for years, he was finally rescued, and joy returned to his world once more.
Herschel, the German Shepherd, was cruelly ignored by his owner. He was chained to a backyard without even being given the slightest bit of love. He wore his teeth down to their nubs, trying to chew the chain that bound him tightly to a horrible existence.
He was eventually brought to an animal shelter. Two families took him in, and two families brought him back to the shelter because they weren’t able to commit to a lifelong relationship with this love-starved dog.
One day, the animal rescue organization Found Animals came into the poor pooch’s life. After hearing Herschel’s tragic story, they resolved that he would never experience the heartbreak of being returned to the shelter again.
They found someone who possessed the deep unconditional love that Hershel needed. Before bringing him to his forever home, they treated him to a day filled with new experiences. Herschel got to play in the snow, eat a burrito, and gulp down a puppuccino.
However, the experience he loved was seeing the ocean for the first time. When he did, he could barely contain his excitement, splashing around with unbridled joy. His story will bring a tear to your eye.
