Baby chipmunk

As soon as they found the little critter, they brought him home and tried to feed him. At first, Susan thought they had found a rat, but later, she understood that she had found a chipmunk when she saw the stripes. The baby chipmunk only weighed 9 grams when they brought him in.

Susan made sure that she was feeding the baby a few drops of milk every time as she was scared that she could choke him. She just wanted to help the chipmunk so that he could grow up healthy.

Susan had decided that she would release the chipmunk into the wild when he was old. However, she was concerned that it would be winter by the time the baby grew up. So, she might have to go further south to release him.

Both Susan and Martin would take turns to feed the baby, and in due course of time, the baby chipmunk was gradually gaining weight and was healthy. He could now move around and loved to be fed.

After spending some time with Susan and Martin, the chipmunk was ready to be released into the wild. Susan wanted the baby chipmunk to spend the winter with them, but Martin had advised her that the chipmunks need to be in the wild.

So, Susan and Martin take the baby chipmunk with a pile of food in their car. They go further south from their home in the forest where the chipmunk could make his den. They released him further south because the northern winters are too cold, and it would be hard for the chipmunk to sustain himself.
