We all know that typical “soccer dad,” the one father who takes it upon himself to coach all the little-league sports when no other parent steps up to the plate. But this dad is proving he’s got game even off the field with his golden buzzer worthy talent.
However, before wowing the judges on Ireland’s Got Talent” with his spectacular voice, Cork-native Barry Darcy has them in tears. It turns out this father hasn’t always had it easy.
After a seemingly simple back injury completely threatened his future, he suddenly found himself paralyzed from the waist down. After receiving a 50% chance of ever walking again, Darcy knew he’d have to pull out all the stops to take back his life.
Through endless hours of therapy and recovery, along with vital support from his family, Darcy is now recovered enough to walk across the stage on national television. We don’t know what gets us more, his shockingly emotional story or his golden buzzer worthy Elvis cover.
