The best pizza in town was at Shakey’s

Shakey’s Pizza Parlor was one of the most popular pizza places in the western United States during the 1950s and 1960s.

For great pizza and endless entertainment, the place to go was Shakey’s Pizza Parlor in the 1950s and 1960s. Inside a Shakey’s, you would find family-style picnic tables, video game machines, and a live band playing Dixieland favorites.

It was designed to be a place where people gathered to celebrate, have a good time, and enjoy delicious pizza. Their thin crust pizza was legendary, followed closely in popularity by their Mojo potatoes and chicken.

For those who wanted to see their food being prepared, large windows at the chef’s station allowed customers to see the whole process from start to finish.

Shakey’s was a welcoming place, perfect for teens wanting to hang out on a Saturday night, co-workers sharing a pitcher of beer at the end of a workweek, and children celebrating their birthdays.

Although there are now fewer than 50 locations along the West Coast, Shakey’s name still lives on, representing good times and great pizza.
