Rescue dogs always need a little bit of extra attention, care, and love. Usually incredibly nervous, they don’t quite know what to expect with their new owners, causing them to be withdrawn.
This notion is valid for the rescue puppy DJ. The poor puppy can’t stop shaking for the first few days that he is adopted because he is just so incredibly nervous.
His incredibly smart rescuer creates a pouch in the front of her shirt to hold him. Being close to her makes DJ feel much more comfortable and secure.
She also creates a little sweater out of a sock that acts as a continual hug for DJ. These techniques eventually make it so he can break out of his shell and feel welcomed.
As it turns out, DJ’s best friend becomes that family’s bunny rabbit. What’s impressive about this interaction is that this is the first creature that DJ had been willing to follow around that wasn’t a human.
With his tail wagging and playful antics, you can see that DJ has finally opened up. It’s fantastic to see what a little bit of love and affection can do for a rescue dog.
DJ has become an entirely new dog through his relationship with the bunny rabbit. Comfortable with all humans and playing with other dogs, he’s finally free of the anxiety that strained him for so long.
