Midway Island is more than 2,000 miles from the nearest continent. There are few places so magnificent; barely touched by any architect but nature (less than 100 people live there), this serene and stunning island is tragically affected by pollution. So bad is the pollution that the island’s fragile ecosystem is breaking.

While it started out slow, we are now destroying our planet at an exponential rate. Our ocean is suffering the greatest. Marine animals are disappearing and becoming extinct. Every year over 14 billion pounds of garbage is dumped into our ocean.

This tragic and haunting video demonstrates how our garbage is making its way to the ends of the planet. The most isolated of places are suffering. Places who have barely seen humans are so full of pollution that the wildlife population is dwindling; dying from the effects of plastic in their bellies and toxins in the water.

While we may not be able to fix all the damage that has been done, we have the opportunity to fix what we can and prevent more damage. Will you be part of the solution?
