Apparently, no matter the species, unattended children are some of the most curious things on the planet. This little deer is no exception. Prepare your heart!
This couple was a taking a nice walk in Forest Park in Springfield, Massachusetts when they surprisingly ran into a baby deer. But sure enough, this little one was not the least bit shy when approached by the couple, and was happy to meet them and say hello. I love it when wild animals lose their shyness towards kind humans.
As this man bends down to offer the small fawn a handful of water, what happens next is incredibly sweet. The uninhibited affection this young deer shows when the humans interact with him just makes you want to scoop him up yourself. It’s so nice to see that this little guy can be unafraid and interact with this fortunate couple, and they were happy to give him all of the affection and kindness that they could offer.
You can tell from the couples’ reactions that they are completely taken by this little one. Deer are infamously skittish this is why this footage is so heartwarming and incredible. One viewer playfully said, “I would have bring her home, nurse him, pet him, train him and we would now be riding together in Neverland.” My own thoughts are not far that!

Now all cuteness aside, the couple called the park ranger to let him know about the lost little one and it was later determined that something must have happened to the mother. After rescuing the deer, they set up remote cameras to monitor the area to locate the mother while the little fawn being cared for. We have our fingers crossed.
In the meantime, today after much nursing and comforting, the little deer is now safe and sound, living a good life in a protected sanctuary protected where he is watched over and loved.
