Madison Taylor Baez might be 11, but she has a powerful voice that gives an accurate impression of how talented she was. The young singer impressed the “America’s Got Talent” judges and proved that young performers can provide serious competition to adults.
The show-stopping performance by the 11-year-old led her to gain the second Golden Buzzer for the Season 17 of AGT. Maddie’s impromptu performance surprised the judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, and Sofia Vergara.
Madison Taylor Baez has always dreamt of participating in AGT since she was a 4-year-old girl, and she achieved her dream in Season 17. However, she never expected her dream to come true like this.
When she participated in the auditions, the AGT team decided to let her sit with the audience. They gave her the chance to perform behind the scenes of the talent show. However, no one expected a powerful performance by the little girl.
Sitting in the audience, one of the gentlemen sang a jazz version of “When the Saints Go Marching In” before the show’s comedian gave the mic to Madison. Next, the talented songstress stunned everyone as she sang the “a cappella” version of “Amazing Grace.”
As soon as Madison started to sing in her soaring voice, she made the judges’ heads turn around as they were curious about the person who possessed the extraordinary voice. Finally, Simon Cowell, who was walking back to the stage, stopped to talk to the tiny human. He then requested her to perform on stage, to which Madison gladly agreed.
Madison continued to sing the song onstage and earned herself a standing ovation from the audience. Judge Howie Mandel told her, “This is what you wanted; this is your dream to be on this stage, not just watch.” When the judges decided to vote, the audience chanted “Golden Buzzer.” Mandel stood up from his seat and pressed the “Golden Buzzer,” sending Maddie to the next round of AGT.
