First-Ever Video of Adorable Sand Kittens Recorded in Their Natural Habitat

Two kittens with light fur and big eyes peek through dry grass, looking alert.

These rare kittens were spotted for the first time in the Moroccan Desert. Sand Cats have been found before, but until now their kittens have always escaped filming.

Sand cats are one of the rare species that make the deserts of Morocco their home. They are incredibly hard to see because they were created with coats that blend in perfectly with the desert environment around them.

Panthera, a global organization dedicated to the preservation of wild cats, captured this video of sand kittens. They believe it is the first time they have ever been recorded because they are so hard to see.
