The excitement in the courtroom is palpable as Judge Judy Sheindlin presides over yet another case. Linda Moore is worried that she may have unintentionally sold her Pomeranian to a puppy mill.

It all starts when Moore acquires a male Pomeranian from Rodney Larsen, which becomes a companion to her female dog. The pair gave birth to five pups. After a few years, Larsen expresses his interest in one of Moore's 5 pups (female), later named Emily. He agrees to pay $500 in two equal installments. However, Larsen only pays $200 and never gives the rest.

Moore then decides to get the payment for her dog. She drives 6 hours to Larsen's house and asks him to return the puppy or give her the money, but to no avail. She then sues Larsen for $2500 or the repossession of the puppy. Judge Judy couldn't comprehend why Moore would sue for such a considerable amount when the remaining amount was only $300. Moore then clarifies that her main concern is to get her puppy back.

Although Larsen owes her $300, Judge Judy wonders why he didn't pay the rest on time. Larsen claims he informed Moore of his financial difficulties. But, to Judge Judy's surprise, he has the check ready and hands it to the court.

As the case continues, Judge Judy asks if Emily ever had a litter, but Larsen states she is too small to breed and is part of his family. She then asks him to pay an additional $500 for Moore's troubles in driving 6 hours to get the payment.

Despite Moore's concern, Judge Judy notes that Emily looks well-cared for and that there is no reason to assume Larsen is running a puppy mill. The case ends with Judge Judy awarding Moore the original $300 plus the $500 payment. However, Emily remains with the current owner.

The show states the importance of pet welfare. Pets are cherished members of our families, and people must ensure their well-being. The judge's persistence in obtaining the truth demonstrates how much she values pet welfare.
