One morning when the Valentine family went out in their backyard, they saw a strange sight. The couple was used to seeing deer behind their house, but not like this. This deer was tangled in Christmas lights. That’s not your everyday occurrence! But they noticed quickly that the deer was scared because he was entangled in someone’s Christmas lights. The animal was struggling to get free and they knew they had to help him.
The lights were tangled around his legs and antlers, and the deer was having trouble walking. He looked terrified because of the situation he was in and he couldn’t do anything to help himself. They managed to get the deer to come closer, and he seemed to want help, but he wouldn’t get too close. They were finally able to get the lights off his feet, but he wouldn’t come closer so they could get them off his antlers.
They decided to grab an apple, and while mom recorded everything, the deer, tempted by the apple, came close enough for them to grab hold of the lights and pull them off his antlers. There was a fence between them and the deer, so they weren’t afraid of being hurt, and the deer was clearly not aggressive. The deer seemed so happy to be rid of those Christmas lights, although he did leave the apple behind.
Thanks to this kind couple, this deer got the help he so desperately needed. They knew that the deer could hurt them with his antlers if he really wanted to, but thankfully, they didn’t give up! This rescue was truly beautiful!
