This video features a fantastic musical performance by the internationally acclaimed ‘Celtic Thunder.’ A mystical opening features a solo on the ‘Tin whistle’ as it is referred to in Ireland.
In front of a green background, there’s a band with guitar, drums, and strings. There’s even a large harp. The audience responds by clapping and shouting as voices are heard from offstage singing, ‘Ireland, Ireland.’
After a few moments, 5 male vocalists appear dressed in grey kilts, high black socks, grey sport coats, and vests. They stand majestically on top of an elevated stage.
The song’s excitement is heightened by the addition of choreographed movements. The men sing in unison on the chorus after ‘Big George’ sings verse 1. Once they begin marching, the audience goes wild.
The other vocalists take turns with solo lines on verse 2, and during the 2nd chorus, the men walk down the steps. The men travel back up the steps for the big finale.
Lifting their arms in unison, the men are showered by green and orange lights representing the colors of the flag. The song is titled, ‘Ireland’s Call,’ and it is filled with emotion and patriotism.
The powerful lyrics ring out, ‘Ireland, Ireland, together standing tall. Shoulder to shoulder, we’ll answer Ireland’s call.’ Celtic Thunder has always represented the country of Ireland with pride. This song could be their most inspired performance honoring their homeland!
