Adopting a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences a family can go through. I for one can say that nothing gives you more satisfaction than rescuing a little furry friend in need. One day, I was walking with my family in my neighborhood when we saw a little puppy in the middle of the road. We quickly went to see what was going on and if there was something we could do about it.
The puppy had a collar, but no identifiable tag. We took the dog home and decided to drive around the neighborhood to find out who had lost him. The puppy looked around 2 months old and didn’t look sick. I asked around the neighborhood and no one seemed to know whose dog he might be. That was until one woman told me that she had seen a car pull up and then someone taking the puppy out and speeding off.
That’s when we realized that someone had probably abandoned him. We took him to the vet to see if he was okay and were relieved when he told us that he only needed his puppy vaccination. After getting it, we decided to go back home and discuss what we would do. My children were very excited about the puppy and they asked us if they could keep him.
We agreed to do so, but we told our kids that if a family came to us to claim, it would probably be better if we gave him back. Time went by and there was no one that came to our home to claim the puppy. I had pasted a lot of posters around the neighborhood just in case his family wanted him back. The puppy grew up to become a very beautiful dog and he has been with us ever since.
Every dog or cat has a story and there are very few times that we even get to find a little bit about it. The dog in the following video has one of those stories that can break your heart, but that, fortunately, sees a happy ending. One family decided to adopt a dog one day. He was an adult dog but for some reason, he stole their heart from the very first time they saw him.
He was a very bright dog and the family taught him quite a few tricks. Their children loved playing with him very much, but it was at night that they started noticing a strange behavior. For some reason, he would stare at them while they were asleep. He wouldn’t sleep himself despite the fact that they had gotten him a new bed. After taking him to the vet and discovering there was nothing wrong with him, they went back to the shelter to see if the staff could shed some light on what was going on. What the shelter staff told them broke their heart.
