If you’ve ever traveled on Christmas Day, then you know how hectic it can be. The airports are packed to the brim with travelers rushing to get home or to their next destination. Slowing down, taking a breath and remembering what the holiday season is all about can feel almost impossible in the midst of busy travel.
Back in 2011, the spirited staff members at the airport in Lisbon, Portugal decided to get together and coordinate a very special surprise for their customers arriving and departing in a hurry. The results are simply spectacular and help to put everyone in the holiday spirit. Talk about forgetting your travel woes! Wait till you see this!
It all begins with a lone flight attendant who’s standing behind the counter. She leaps up with her arms stretched high, lip syncing her way through a song being blasted over the speakers. Suddenly, a mass of employees break out into a routine that’s full of a variety of classic songs, from holiday-themed to rock ‘n’ roll. From Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” to “Rock Around The Clock” by Bill Haley & His Comets.
Some viewers have called this the best holiday flashmob they’ve seen yet. It sure is a great one. I wish I had been there to see it. Maybe this will catch on in other airports over the holiday season.
