The Bee Gees’ Timeless Classic: ‘Jive Talkin” — The Feel Good Hit of 1975!

‘The Bee Gees’ unique sound put them on the map in the 1960s and 1970s. The brothers were a family of talented singers and musicians that captivated America with their falsetto singing and infectious songwriting.

This performance features one of their biggest hit songs titled Jive Talkin’. The three brothers stand on stage side by side, wearing colorful clothes as green lights shine behind them.

Their guitars shimmer in the light and the background of the stage is a colorful green and red pattern of different swirling circles. The Bee Gees have musicians accompanying them, including a drummer, pianist, and bassist.

They all bounce their bodies and tap their feet as they groove to the music. They sing the lyrics, “With all your jive talkin’, you’re telling me lies, yeah. Good lovin’ still gets in my eyes. Nobody believes what you say. It’s just your jive talkin’ that gets in the way.”

The second chorus has an instrumental break featuring just the voices singing while the rest of the band claps along. They finish with a final chorus, ending with a fade-out, while one guitarist plays a riff over it.

The tune was initially released as a single in 1975 from the album ‘Main Course.’ It was also featured on the 1977 ‘Saturday Night Fever’ soundtrack, which starred John Travolta.

It was considered a comeback song since it was their first hit since 1971’s ‘How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.’ Jive Talkin’ hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the top five on the U.K. Singles Chart.
